As Marjorie and Bronco are given space in the parlor to do what young lovers do, Gildy, Leroy, and Birdie discuss the love stuff happening in the other room. Though the others recognize it, Gildy is yet to come to grip the idea that Marjorie is actually in love and going steady.
Taking a walk downtown, Peavey shares his thoughts on the love stuff with Gildy. when Marshall Bullard, an old flame of Marjorie’s before he went off to Harvard is seen back in town, Gildy tries to push him back into Marjorie’s life to stir up a little competition. Bronco doesn’t react to the competition well, and Marjorie is worried about him.
With Bronco still missing, Marjorie mopes around, and everybody is miserable. well, everybody but Leroy, who seems impervious to the agony of the lovesick drama. Gildy made this mess, and he’s at least man enough to find Bronco and try to patch things up.
Judge Hooker pops in to leave a few words of advice with Gildersleeve. will Bronco be brave and stand up for the honor and hand of the fair Marjorie? You’ll have to check it out for yourself. Cute ending.
