Great Gildersleeve – The Carnival. ep337, 491102

Harold Peary at the microphone, wearing a suit and hat. A black and white photograph of Harold Peary, a man in a suit and tie, smiling and looking off to the side. He is standing in front of a plain background, with his hands in his pockets. Peary was a comedian and actor, best known for his role as "The Great Gildersleeve" on radio and television in the 1940s and 1950s. The photograph conveys a sense of classic Hollywood glamour and style.

Preparing to go out, Gildersleeve plans to give his rival, Dr Olsen, a run for his money with nurse Milford. Marjorie and Birdie stroke his ego to encourage him. At Peavey’s, the two rivals meet for the first time. Gotta loves that one liner that Peavey fires back to Gildersleeve.

At the Milford home, Mr s Milford offers some advice for Gildy. Will it win him any advantage? Another hot tip sends Gildy to meet with Catherine Milford, but Doc Olsen beats him at every turn.

The dating contest moves to the carnival, where there’s plenty of chances to rise to a challenge. Will Gildy be able to win nurse Milford away from her doting doctor?

With all his friends enjoying the carnival, he’ll either have a public victory, or a public humiliation as Gildersleeve plays all the carnival games. At any rate, Gildy makes an impression with a little lost boy named Billy.
