Bernardine is still filling in for Sam’s usual secretary, Effie. Relive the latest adventure as Sam gives his report. He had been hired on for a wealthy family to safeguard valuable diamonds. There’s a curse attached to the family heirloom, and murder soon enters the picture as well as robbery. Note: It seems that anybody in detective stories who needs to be body guarded is doomed to die, and anything that needs safeguarding gets stolen anyway. Just saying.
In the search for clues, Sam uncovers a convoluted attachment to the diamonds. Who is to inherit them, and under what conditions? A young, foreign bride is taken advantage of, and the diamonds turn out to be fakes.
The plot twists get more tangled before Sam is able to throw himself into danger and unravel the secret. Stay tuned as all the secrets are reported to Bernardine, and a letter from Effie warns Sam of some possible wedding entanglements of his own.
