Now that he has told his lie, how can he show his face in the bright, sunny day without being found out? Toddy relearns the joys, and dangers of being a kid again as he employs Vicky in his sneaking around, and avoiding other faculty members. Will the day off work be a liberating experience, or just be the source of a self-imposed entrapment?
Somehow, the Halls make it outside, and are on the way to a nice quiet picnic. Might Toddy be having trouble with his conscience for skipping school today? Though Doc Hall tries to outthink his school authorities, he still finds time to slip into a sentimental flashback.
