Burns and Allen – All Promises Are Fictitious. 400417

Burns and Allen comedy duo performing on stage

George gets compliments on his new suit. Will the cast agree on his choice in style? In trying to not talk about her campaign, Gracie talks about her campaign for president. Ray Noble brings a gift suitable for Gracie, but how will she hold bubble gum close to her heart? A tailor arrives to give George a hard time about his clothes. Frank Parker gets in a few insults at George’s expense, and his face.

Frank Parker sings, Stars in My Eyes. Gracie tells what she expects of her cast for her trip to Omaha. She wants it to go over big with her relatives. Ray tries to compose something for Gracie, as long as it doesn’t conflict with Shakespeare. Bubbles got a date with Don Wilson, and Gracie talks about it. Ray shares an improvement in his lyrics. Gracie has the chance to describe more of her campaign policies. Ray Noble plays a hopping dance tune.

Ray has another short lyric to read to Gracie. Bubbles visits to inspire Gracie to make an appeal for votes. She uses metaphors of babies, bulls, and living conditions in America. Frank directs attention back on George’s suit, but the comments are interrupted by a phone call from George Jessel. The census enumerator from last week returns. He has more neighborhood gossip for Gracie. Ray’s lyrics make a final appearance to wrap up the show.

Gracie sings, Piccolo Pete.

Note: The census man sounds like Elliot Lewis, but I’m not sure.
