They also touch base on their renting the store to Squire for the duration of the filming. Abner gets confused over Lum’s figure of speech about chickens coming home to roost.
Try as he might, he just can’t explain it to Abner who comes up with some of the most imaginative mental images as he takes the phrase literally. Lum is saved by the bell when the phone rings, and the movie business returns to the forefront as the main topic.
