Working the Narcotics Department, Joe Friday puts a stop to a drug ring. As Joe and Frank get ready for their case, they share a few words over coffee. A phone call from an informant gets them the start they need. The drama is drawn out a bit as we take a peek into the life of the informant, and the scene as the cops pay their visit to get the promised information.
After shaking down a pusher, and visiting the crime lab, Joe finds he has a hot lead and hits the streets with a vengeance. Joe Friday runs up against a snag when the law has a new feature. Rules for search warrants have to be followed, or face losing the case on a technicality.
There man is pegged, but the legal loophole means he may be free to peddle more drugs before he can be brought down. A rare case when Friday doesn’t get his man.
