Using a temporary secretary, Bernardine, Sam files his report. A dame needs help in getting her husband, Leo, out of trouble. He’s trying to go straight, but is finding it hard to break away from his ties to the underworld. Sam hangs out with the dame in the night clubs to get the background on Leo.
When Leo has to confront his business associate, Charlie, Sam is on hand to make sure the meeting goes well. Getting entangled into the affairs of Leo, Sam may need the services of a bail bondsman for himself.
Despite doing his best to avoid it, Sam finds himself behind bars, but Leo’s wife is on hand to bail him out. He has enough clues to the truth behind the bail bond robbery to set up the bad guys. Who had the missing bonds? Who was the mastermind behind the caper? Sam has the answers, or at least enough of them for justice to be done, and his report wrapped up.
