Flash back to a previous evening where Liz and George walk the street and do some window shopping. She shows off a hat in the window and hints to George to get it for her. When he doesn’t, she visits the hat shop the next day and buys it anyway. When George comes home, he announces an unexpected day off and plans to spend it playing golf. Liz shares her secret with Katie, but can she keep it from George?

Caught in the lie, Liz tries to cry her way out of it, but George isn’t budging. He preaches to her about changing her ways. She gets a little ammunition of her own when she catches George in a lie about his day off. To encourage them out of their habit, they challenge each other to a bet to tell only the truth, no matter how painful or embarrassing. The first to be caught in a lie wins.

After a public service announcement, its back to the Coopers. Liz test George, and takes offense when he is truthful. Will George try to get back at her? To anticipate, Liz tries to force him into telling a lie so she can win the bet. George has some disturbing news when he admits that he had a couple of visitors who he had to tell the truth to, one a tax agent, and the other a reporter from the society page. His truthful story doesn’t make it on the society page. It’s so juicy that it lands on the front page instead.

Just what did George say? As Liz reads highlights from it, her secrets are out. The floodgates of truthfulness are open, and George even gets the chance to tell off his boss. There’s even a happy ending, but you’ll need to listen to learn how Liz and George manage it.
