Document9 – Word After escaping from jail, Lum hides out. Abner claims that nobody has come around looking for him yet, but Lum cautions Abner to be alert. The paranoid Lum tells how he managed to get away. He tells Abner how he plans to escape South of the border. Oklahoma, he reckons.
Lum agonizes over being a hunted man, and Abner comments on his scruffy appearance. Lum’s pressing need is to find something to eat, but panics when Dick Huddleston arrives in the store. Dick has good news, and though he’s usually level headed, he decides to play a joke on poor old Lum.
