That bubbling, effervescent, comedian, Jack Benny, is introduced to tell a story about a pink alligator on a leash. The story becomes a running gag that Dennis doesn’t quite understand. Mary and Phil each take their shots at Jack’s old joke, adding their own twists. Jack teases Phil about his collegiate popularity, and the sign on his bass drum. Dennis sings, I Dream of Jeanie.

As Jack comments on the russet hair of his youth, he compliments Dennis on his 7th week on the show. Mrs Day interrupts to take a jab at Jack and his pink alligator joke. A Thanksgiving play that Mary wrote is announced, but turns into a poem by her instead. Thanksgiving, You’re a Little Mixed Up Aren’t You Kid? After a knock at the door with more holiday confusion, Phil plays, Cheri Cheri Beri Bin.
