Recently Clark and Lois have been sent to investigate an explosion at a doll factory. In the story thus far, Clark has found explosives being hidden inside the dolls, and takes his story to the police. At the same time, Lois has been kidnapped by Hans Holbein, and left to die in an explosion.
Today Clark has found clues that make him realize that Lois is held captive. Changing to Superman, he finds where Lois is tied up, just as the explosion rocks the building. Lois is rescued in time, and the evidence points directly to Hans. Now the problem is in locating Hans Holbein. There’s also the question of exactly why the dolls were packed with the high explosive.
Acting on a tip, Clark races to the airport to catch Hans, but Lois is skeptical, thinking he is out to scoop her story. Still, she goes with the cops to investigate the mobster’s house. Meanwhile, Hans and his henchmen talk about their next step, when Lois and the cops show up at his house. An ambush has Lois once again in the evil clutches of Hans Holbein.
What will Superman do? Will he manage to catch up with Lois, or stay a step behind the racketeer who has her captive? When the Man of Stel finally does get to the mansion of Hans Holbein, nobody is there, except a clue that Lois managed to leave for him.
