Audio quality is poor. It would be OK, but it seems to have come from a recording where a microphone was placed near a radio speaker, and not tapped into a line in jack. It’s a little mushy in spots, and there’s some radio frequency hum that can be prominent in old tube type radio and TV sets.
Sam files his report with his secretary, Effie Perine. A dame has approached him with a golden key that is found to hold a secret key inside it; In going to match the key with its lock, Sam encounters a thug, but ends up helping the guy out, instead of exchanging blows.
Where’s the dame? What’s the key all about? Bodies soon show up, damsels in distress are rescued, and dark secrets of murder and blackmail are revealed.
The matter of a missing half million dollars keeps things heated up as gangsters close in. Never one to be taken for a fool, Sam leads the evil doers into his trap, wisecracking the whole way. Stay tuned as Sam reveals the mystery of the key as he wraps up his report to Effie. And the money? What’s that all about?
