As Clark and Lois have went to her uncle’s house to learn about his weather predictions they have ran right into a mystery. The house servant Rogers has been killed, and when reporting the incident in town, Clark learned of a bank robbery, and people trapped inside the vault.

Today the cops are on hand, and Clark tells what he knows of the strange events and that uncle Horace Morton and Lois is missing. Clark is suspicious of Horace Morton, believing he is up to no good. There’s enough evidence to prove it to the cops, and they haul in Horace on suspicion of killing his man, Rogers.

Though it’s raining, Clark goes outside to folllow car tracks, as Superman he investigates further. On the ground far below, Lois is being chased by a second car that forces her off the road and into a lake. When Clark pulls Lois from the lake, she shares some secrets about what really happened back at the house. There’s definite gangster activity, and uncle Horace seems innocent afterall.

The pair of reporters have been able to hitch a ride to town, but when they get to the police station to clear uncle Horace, there’s a big comotion. What happened there? Horace Morton is once again missing.
