Previously Clark and Lois had been sent to her uncle’s house, Horace Morton. He is a scientist who claims to have invented a machine that helps him predict the weather, especially unexpected changes that other forcasters miss. Along the way they have encountered a storm, a carjacking, and recieved a strange message from the house servant, Rogers.
Today the houseservant takes a strange phone call that seems to both extend a warning to Horace Morton as well as being interested in the weather. What might it have to do with a recent robbery? The servant is afraid that the good doctor is being used, and Rogers wants to protect his boss.
Meanwhile in the main room of the observatory, Clark and Lois are being entertained by uncle Horace. He shows off his machinery, and offers a demonstration of predicting the weather. Clark feels the whole situation with the machinery is bogus somehow, but he’s just not able to pinpoint what’s going on. Horace Morton certainly seems to have made an accurate prediction, but when a shot rings out, Clark and Lois discover the dead body of Rogers, the houseservant.
What does it all mean? Who would want him dead? And just what was the message he wanted to tell Clark? Stay tuned to the next exciting installment.
