On Stage – Cargo. ep4, 530122

A black and white photograph of Elliott Lewis, a man in a suit and tie, standing in front of a microphone with headphones on. He appears to be speaking or reading from a script, with one hand raised to emphasize a point. The background is dark and nondescript, with no discernible details.

Our husband and wife actors of the program play the parts of Isabell Warner, and Paul Kincade. In the jungles of the Amazon, she hires him to take her to meet her future husband. They don’t get along well, and are prone to bickering. You could say they have magnetic personalities. Like two north poles of a magnet, they utterly repulse each other.

Elliot Lewis describes the scenery as he steams his ship with his human cargo to her destination. In the heat, tempers run high, and fights break out. She is to meet her plantation owning husband for the first time, and start her new life in a strange world. What kind of person would do that? What kind of relationship exists for him to take her to the plantation in the jungle?

As they travel, and invade each others space, secrets are learned. A murdered brother, a lost love, and picturesque prose to describe the jungle dangers. When jungle fever enters the picture, some of the hatred between the man and woman begins to break down, but now the bride has been delivered to her fate.

The action packed story is only half over. Going their separate ways, will Isabelle and Paul ever cross paths again? What could force Isabella away from her jealous, possessive, plantation owning husband? This mix of strong willed personalities is a cauldron that can only erupt into tense drama.

A strange love has hatched, and now Isabelle finds herself fleeing her jealous husband for her life with Paul. If her husband doesn’t kill them, the jungle might.
