Larry Stevens sings, but the number gets cut. Jack gets his dander up when he thinks Fred Allen is in the Hallway, but when it’s Alan Ladd, will Jack be so tough? After a little audio glitch where Phil’s tune is snipped, Jack gets ready for one of his murder mysteries. Captain O’Benny deals out the parts, and right after Rochester phones in to tell about a car accident, the play begins. The Woman in the Window, or… It’s a Good Thing the Venetian was Blind. Alan Ladd pitches in as the hard case who Capt. O’Benny has to hunt down amid a flurry of zany jokes from the voice tallents of Frank Nelson and Mel Blanc.
