Audio is a touch on the fast side. Rochester and Mary talk about Jack being appointed as an Admiral. we find Jack in the bathtub with his fleet, and talks Navy tactics with Rochester. Later, he goes to pick up his gal, Gladys Zabisco, and meets a couple of neighborhood kids who swap quick age related jokes.
Humming an Easter tune, Jack segways into a song by Larry Stevens, Someone was Always In My Dreams. On the street Jack beets newspaper reporter, Joe Kearns, and tells how he first met Phil Haris. Flashback mode begins, and Jack is having dinner at Mary’s. They decide to go on the town, and head to the nightclub where Phil is playing. Frank Nelson is the wisecracking waiter.
what kind of impression will Phil make? Undertaker jokes blend with Phils brassy humor, and Jack likes what he sees. Phil sings a chorus of his signature song, That’s what I Like About the South. Can Jack impress Phil enough to be hired onto his show? It’s cheesy, it’s campy, but Oh so fun.
PS: Though the recent show about finding Mary was based on a kernel of truth, I’m not so sure this one is.
