On Stage – The Bear. ep18, 530507

A black and white photograph of Elliott Lewis, a man in a suit and tie, standing in front of a microphone with headphones on. He appears to be speaking or reading from a script, with one hand raised to emphasize a point. The background is dark and nondescript, with no discernible details.

A modern adaptation of a Russian one act play. Cathy is lovesick and mournful today as she mourns the loss of her husband. Her young man has been killed in the recent battles with Roosevelts Rough Riders. Elliot is a loud man who enters to claim that the dead husband owed him large amounts of money, and he’s here to claim the ranch, unless the mortgage can be paid.

Cathy takes offense at Elliots manners, and tries to make him behave. All he sees is the business nature of a transaction between them, and let’s his temper blow out of proportion. With her melancholie mood broken, Cathy vents a little of her own temper about men. The shouting match grows to the point of proposing a duel. Cathy’s firey come backs impress Elliot, who begins to admire her more and more. Maybe even beginning to like her a little. Will the proposed duel turn into a proposed marriage? Join in the emotional roller coaster of love and hate, arguing and making up.
