Lum and Abner – Lum, Cedric and Grandpap Go to Las Vegas with Abner. 480913

Two men dressed in traditional Hawaiian attire, Lum and Abner, are seen mid-dance in the center of a small store. Lum, on the left, is playing a ukulele while Abner on the right is swaying his hips and waving his arms. A small crowd is gathered around them, some clapping and others smiling. The store itself is cluttered with various items, including shelves of canned goods and hanging clothes, giving it a cozy and lived-in feel.

After the excitement of the send off at the train station, and Abner rushing off with his friends, they all make plans to drive him to Las Vegas. Lizabeth will ride on ahead, while Cedric acts as chauffeur driver in Abner’s limousine.

Grandpap wants to take his oversized pedigree dog who is probably bigger than he is. What kind of pedigree was that critter, Frances? A mix of Sheep dog, Great Dane, Pinscher, and Pekinese? How’ that last one get in there?

Even Ben Withers joins Lum in the car, but he’s only going as far as Mt Ida… and it’s in the opposite direction. The guys let him out, since he insists on walking on his own, and the road trip begins.
