Fibber McGee and Molly – The Abandoned Jalopy. ep577, 490301

A black and white photograph of Fibber McGee and Molly, a couple from a popular radio show of the same name. They are standing in front of a closet that has been opened, with clothes and other items spilling out onto the floor. Fibber is holding a mop and wearing an apron, while Molly looks on with a smile on her face. The overall effect is one of humor and domesticity, with the couple's playful antics and cluttered living space providing a snapshot of life in mid-century America in 1948.

It seems that someone has abandoned an old jalopy outside Fibber’s house. Today, he and Molly are outside to check it out and complain about the car. A talkative neighbor stops by to comment about the car. The gabby gal is played by Bea Benaderet.

No sooner does she leave, than the Old Timer adds his own contribution about the old car, but he thinks it’s one that Fibber has just bought. Billy Mills plays, Brush Those Tears From Your Eyes.

Finally, Fibber has had enough and calls the cops about the car. He’s so mad, he decides to phone the Mayor himself, but gets Mirt. Talk about fast service, Mayor Latrivia has just picked this time to ring the front door bell. Harlow Wilcox stops in to talk about… what else? The sponsor.

Molly had to run out on a chor upstairs. Hey, I’ll bet Teeny stops by. She does, and though Fibber isn’t too keen on that car, she has some plans for it. Seeing the brilliance in her plan, Fibber tries to talk her out of taking the old automobile. The Kingsmen sing, It’s What You Do With What You Got.

Doc Gamble enters, and is upset when he thinks someone has been in an accident after seeing the car. He is actually relieved to know that everybody is OK, so he immediately shifts into insult mode with Fibber. Fibber has made an arrangement with the junk man to haul the car away. There’s just a little mix up when the junk man hauled Doc’s car away instead.

Teeny can help out, and sees a big chance to make a good deal for herself.
