Lum and Abner – Abner’s Horse was Stolen from Dallas. 480810

Two men dressed in traditional Hawaiian attire, Lum and Abner, are seen mid-dance in the center of a small store. Lum, on the left, is playing a ukulele while Abner on the right is swaying his hips and waving his arms. A small crowd is gathered around them, some clapping and others smiling. The store itself is cluttered with various items, including shelves of canned goods and hanging clothes, giving it a cozy and lived-in feel.

Stuck in their jail cell, and with Abner’s bogus confession of bank robbery keeping them there, they make the decision to come clean with their jailer. They try to tell Benjamin Franklin Withers about the terms of Abner’s inheritance, as long as he can keep it a secret.

Can Ben be relied on to keep the secret? Fine. The gents are asked to turn in their key to their cell, then release papers are arranged.

They talk about the impressive horse that Cedric brought back from the Gypsies camp. Lum claims it’s not the one he bought from them, but where did it come from? Ben chatters on about the folks he knows back in Mt Ida. Wil he ever let Lum and Abner out of jail? Not when the phone call comes in from grandpap about a stolen horse.
