Fibber has a hamburger stand, and we get to se his skill at customer service. He has a cook to whip up the goodies as he mans the cash register and talks with Mrs Uppington. Her boyfriend troubles are only compounded by the quality of Fibber’s food.
The Old Timer pops in to joke about politics. Then, needing to place an order for the store, McGee manages to talk to Myrt the telephone operator instead. Don Novas sings, I Promise You.
Molly is still absent from the show, and Zazu Pitts pops in to ask about a job as a cashier. She tells about her experiences that qualify her for the job, which runs down the road of her personal life and romances. The Four Notes sing a jazzy version of, There’s a Hole in the Old Oaken Bucket.
Horatio Boomer enters to tell his side of the failed romance between himself and Uppington. Throughout the show, a man has entered to repetedly order hamburgers. Frank Nelson, if I’m not mistaken. Does he really love to eat them that much? what can he be doing with all of them?
PS: In my opinion, Zazu Pitts couldn’t be a beter replacement for Molly during this spell. Too bad they couldn’t keep her around when Molly rejoined the show. She does a wonderful job, and her style of humor fits in with the show.
