Lum and Abner – Learn That Squire Is Reselling Circus. 480624

Two men dressed in traditional Hawaiian attire, Lum and Abner, are seen mid-dance in the center of a small store. Lum, on the left, is playing a ukulele while Abner on the right is swaying his hips and waving his arms. A small crowd is gathered around them, some clapping and others smiling. The store itself is cluttered with various items, including shelves of canned goods and hanging clothes, giving it a cozy and lived-in feel.

Back in the Jot ‘Em Down store, Abner talks with grandpap. They get caught up on the situation that led to Abner leaving the circus. The missing money, the crush on Zenora, and the misunderstanding Lum had at finding out Abner was responsible for the thefts. On top of all that, Abner was ready to leave the hectic life behind for the quiet life at the store.

Grandpap thinks the store life is hard enough, and the two gents talk about some of the henpecked men in town. Abner is ready to go home, and prove himself as man of the house. Then Lizabeth phones in, and we see who’s really the boss.

Squire enters, and tells how Lum is behind selling the circus. Now he needs Abner to sign off on the contract to close the deal. Its a good idea… right?
A phone call from Lum comes just a moment too late. The truth about the buyer is revealed, and we find out the deal wasn’t as good for Lum and Abner as it was for Squire.
