Jack Benny, Mary Livingstone and Don Wilson posing for a photo in 1938.

The Academy Awards have come and gone, but how is Jack taking it with his loss? Mary shares secrets to burst his bubble as to why he was the center of attention at the award ceremony. Jack analyzes how he might perform better for the upcoming year. The play is announced, parts assigned, jabs taken at Fred Allen, and will begin after Kenny Baker sings, This Night Will Be My Souvenir.

The epic film portrayal of Jesse James begins with Jack trying to milk a cow. Mary and Andy share tales about a troublesome goat, and the complications of a new railroad coming through. Can the humble farmers handle the high powered railroad execs, and throw them off the land? Phil and Kenny could face gun play as they aim for the deed to the farm. Phil plays his arrangement of, I’ve Been Working on the Railroad.

Despite resistance, the railroad has gone through… right through the farm house of the James family. The matter makes mealtimes awkward. How stubborn can Jesse James be? Will Jesse marry his sweetheart? Will the family have enough of the pushy railroads? Stay tuned to the show next week, and find out.
