Mom and dad are returning home after a bridge game, but neither seem to have a key to get in. Simple, just ring the bell and wake up Archie. Too bad, Archie isn’t inside. When he does arrive, he doesn’t have his key either. Now what? Climb in a window?

Matters get more frustrating when the phone starts ringing, but nobody can answer it. The problems stack up when the only open window is on the top floor, and the ladder is locked in the basement. Think that’s the only complication? Somehow Jughead ends up in a locked room in the basement, the phone keeps ringing, the borrowed extension ladder is too complicated to use, Jughead gets panicky. Did I mention that pesky phone that keeps ringing?

When the cops stop, dad has to explain that he isn’t breaking in. When Betty and Veronica show up, the situation reaches maximum disaster. Do they ever get in? And who was calling on the phone the whole time?

Archie was a Saturday morning radio show for kids, as well as a popular comic strip.
