Lum and Abner – Found Aladdin’s Lamp. 480107

Two men dressed in traditional Hawaiian attire, Lum and Abner, are seen mid-dance in the center of a small store. Lum, on the left, is playing a ukulele while Abner on the right is swaying his hips and waving his arms. A small crowd is gathered around them, some clapping and others smiling. The store itself is cluttered with various items, including shelves of canned goods and hanging clothes, giving it a cozy and lived-in feel.

Abner seems to have over ordered on lanterns, and Lum is putting his foot down, forcing him to sell them all or pay for them himself. Cedric enters, but will he be able to help sell the lanterns?

To improve their chances, Abner wants to shine up the lamps. It reminds Cedric of a story. Does Abner know the one about Aliddin and his lamp? Or was that Alan Ladd and a lamp?

The two stumble through the story, getting details confused, and giving the story a blend of the modern and the classic. Well I’ll be a polka dotted ‘possum, I think Cedric knows the story better than Abner. Will those lanterns ever get cleaned up? Will Abner ever learn what happens to Alan Ladd, or his uncle?
