Lum and Abner – Float For Christmas Parade. 471216

Two men dressed in traditional Hawaiian attire, Lum and Abner, are seen mid-dance in the center of a small store. Lum, on the left, is playing a ukulele while Abner on the right is swaying his hips and waving his arms. A small crowd is gathered around them, some clapping and others smiling. The store itself is cluttered with various items, including shelves of canned goods and hanging clothes, giving it a cozy and lived-in feel.

The focus in Pine Ridge has turned to the upcoming Christmas parade, and we join Lum and Abner as they build their float. The two old timers chat, but Lum thinks that Abner isn’t building it to the specs in his design. To keep things secret, they’re building it in the store room.

Ben Withers pops in, but will their secret design be safe? Ben barely seems to notice, as he goes on to tell about others in town, and their crazy preparations to celebrate the holiday. Everybody seems to have their own ideas for a special float, including the prisoners down in Ben’s jail.

Cedric enters, but will he be able to run the tractor to pull lums float? Commitments with his school may have Cedric riding a camel, and being a wise man. Or not. What about the float? You know how these things go, when you build something indoors, then try to get it outside to use it.
