Fibber McGee and Molly – Trip To Rich Aunt Sarahs. ep605, 491227

A black and white photograph of Fibber McGee and Molly, a couple from a popular radio show of the same name. They are standing in front of a closet that has been opened, with clothes and other items spilling out onto the floor. Fibber is holding a mop and wearing an apron, while Molly looks on with a smile on her face. The overall effect is one of humor and domesticity, with the couple's playful antics and cluttered living space providing a snapshot of life in mid-century America in 1948.

The McGees’s get ready to take a trip to see old aunt Sarah. wwith bags packed, Fibber needs to make a phone call and ends up chatting with Myrt the phone operator. he manages to get through to Ole the Janitor to give him some theater tickets. Down at the train station Fibber and Molly run into Old Timer and his Southern girlfriend Bessie. They share a story about one of Bessies Civil war relatives. The jokes about travelling, and oil wells are punctuated by train announcements voiced by Arthur Q Brian.

Billy Mills plays, A Thousand Violins. On the train, the McGees find their small travelling compartment, but in the club car they marvel at the luxuries on board. The train conductor makes announcements as the train passes points of interest. The Kingsmen sing, Dance the Old Year Out.

when it comes time to show their tickets to the conducter, a mix up is discovered. Through a strange twist of events though, Fibber and Molly make it home OK.

PS: Gale Gordon is the conductor who takes the tickets, but I think it may be harlow wilcox who makes the train announcements while onboard the train.
