Fibber McGee and Molly – Listening To Christmas Carols. ep344, 421222

A festive image of a vintage Santa Claus holding a large sack of toys over his shoulder, with a snowy background and the words "Spread the Christmas Spirit" written in bold white letters above.

Audio starts out a bit muffled sounding. Poor, but it clears up after a minute or three.

It’s the night before Christmas, and Fibber doesn’t have all his shopping done yet. Though Fibber puts on a grumpy face towards Teeny, Molly reveals his true feelings for the little neighbor girl. With most of their usual characters either gone off to war, or away for a few weeks, Billy Millx enters to take up the slack, and with the McGee’s a Merry Christmas. Will Fibber’s attitude clear up? First a visit from Teeny. She gets teased, and asks for her little friends to come in to sing Carols to Fibber. Teeny shares secrets about Fibber, and caroling last year. But will it explain his bad attitude? Billy Mills plays a sultry, swinging dance tune.

Teeny spends time reading stories to Fibber. Will her playing with him soften Fibber’s hard heart, and let her friends sing to him?

The little girl sure knows plenty about national economics, and the need to buy war bonds. Harlowe Wilcox enters with a special gift for Molly. I wonder if it has anything to do with the sponsor product?

Molly takes a long distance phone call, and gets to talk with Mirt the phone operator. Besides the joke about her brother, we learn that Gildersleeve is coming soon. Abigail Uppington arrives to get an earful of Fibber’s fake crabbiness.

What will it take to soften Fibber up? The girls team up on him, and we are treated to the Kingsmen joining Teeny to perform, Twas the Night Before Christmas.
