Laura Cabot, in the current time in 1942, tells of an event that began for her just a few days ago on New Years Eve. As we join her in flashback on that cold and windy night, she has met Duke Tobac. The house is one that has been in her family for years, but why is Duke so upset at seeing it?
The house is seldom occupied, since Laura rents a place in town, and tonight it has a wierd feeling for her. Does any of her friends, guests, and house servants notice anything strange? Spells of deja vu run through the story as Duke and Laura settle into the house for the annual festivities. Are Duke and Laura falling in love with each other? Sort of… maybe.
A thump on the head reveals a family secret from Duke. What does an old New Years resolution from a hundred years ago hold for Laura?
PS: I don’t know a lot about this series outside the handful of episodes I’ve posted thus far, but there seems to be a time travelling trend to the stories. That, or a travel into a parallel, fantasy world of some kind. The writer kind of telegraphs his punches and drops too many hints in the story not to see where things are going. Hope things get better. Spooky topics, but the writing could be less revealing, and the acting a little less bland.
