It’s station break time as the Voice of Pine Ridge airs a quick spot announcement or two, and upcoming shows. Standing down from broadcasting, Lum has a new stress to deal with. He had been promised as the prize to Widow Abernathy, when she won on the Queen for the Hour show.
As the widow passes by, Lum does his best in hiding from her. Will he have to go through with marrying her? Maybe if Lum can get the widow to fall in love with someone else, he’ll be freed from his fate? Will Ben Withers be a likely target?
In their own ways, Lum and Abner each try to sell the attributes of Widow Abernathy to Ben. The buttering up, and sweet words flow. Somehow though, I think Lum’s matchmaking might backfire on him.
