There’s supposed to be an on-air wedding today on radio station VPR, but Lum plays sick. Abner reviews the situation thus far with Ben Withers. Lum being offered as a prize in a radio contest. The wedding to Wido Abernathy, and the logistics of the loophole that Lum hopes to get him out of his obligation.
Cedric is missing, but Ulysses S Quincey happens by to man the generator. Abner puts on the upbeat disk jockey patter to introduce the music, while Ben pitches in with advertising annoucements.
Song dedications are made, titles are announced, and the ads keep coming over the instrumental selections. Abner also reads out the standings of songs on the Pine Ridge Hit Parade. Abner and Ben even have a call in give away to a diligent listener. Who will guess the song? What other wierd news will the phone callers bring?
