The show next week will be broadcast from New York, so we join Jack at home as he packs. Preparations are made for traveling by train, and expenses. Jack goes to his safe. i guess he didn’t have his vault installed yet, although he does have his guard Ed, on duty, and his crazy alarm.
Rochester enters to help with the packing. Larry Stevens comes over, but before he can get to his song, Phil phones in with his own packing troubles, and train joke. Larry sings, Don’t Fence Me In.
Jack plans to be away for 2 months, and a man stops in wanting to rent the house. Mary’s maid, Pauline enters to report that Mary has a bad cold, and she delivers the doctor report, and a few jokes as well. Phil plays some transitioning music, Every Time I Fall In Love.
At the train station, Mel Blanc announces the train arrivals and departures, then on the way to the ticket window, Jack encounters a race track tout to offer advice on travel plans. Frank Nelson is the ticket clerk who gives Jack a hard time. Won’t anybody take that train to Anaheim, Azusa, and Cucamonga? Poor old Mel.
