Gunshots and murder have the City of the Dead in a stir. After Captain Friday reviews the nights events with Jimmy and Phillus, Doc enters to report the opened grave of last night has mysteriously been filled in again. As the sheriff, Doc, and Mayor investigate, suddenly they find the house is on fire.
Who is the claw footed man, and where did he come from? A spooky atmosphere hangs over the cemetary like a wet cloak. In order to try to capture him, the scene at the old church is revisited by Captain Friday and Doc.
Racing back to the cottage, Phillus is found stabbed, and Mayor claims he saw Jimmy standing over her with the bloody knife. Is he a crazed maniac? Jimmy tries to remember what happened, and how he came to be found holding the knife.
