Lum and Abner – Squire Sues Lum and Abner for the Pearl Ownership. 470127

Lum and Abner in a Publicity Photo. 5x6. In this black and white publicity photo, two men, Lum and Abner, are posing together in a studio. They are dressed in suits and ties, with Abner on the left wearing a hat and holding a cane, while Lum on the right has his hands in his pockets. They are smiling at the camera with a friendly and approachable demeanor, creating a sense of warmth and familiarity. The photo has a vintage feel, reflecting the era in which they were popular radio personalities.

With the run on oysters, and hopes to find a pearl, Lumburgers have been forgotten by the citezens of Pine Ridge. Cedric learns all about it. Will he eat any oysters, or just poke them around in hopes of finding his own pearl.

With the oyster supply depleted, Cedric leaves and is replaced by Doc Withers. With a willing ear to listen, Abner tells Doc all about the argument between Squire, grandpap, and Lum over the recently discovered pearl.

To distract Abner from the drama, Doc recounts an article he found in the almanac about sloths. Doc also has some mail and telegrams, and manages to skim over topics to maximize the affect of Abner’s confusion. When Lum enters, will he have any new word to resolve the tension over the pearl? What new hotels will be demanding the Lumburger recipe? That notice from the county seat doesn’t seem to want any Lumburgers though.
