Casey, Crime Photographer – The Box Of Death. ep181, 470417

A security guard dressed in a dark uniform is reaching for his sidearm, which is holstered on his right hip. He stands in front of a brick wall, with his left hand resting on his belt. His facial expression suggests a state of high alertness and readiness to act in case of any threat or danger.

A police officer brings a complaint of a large packing box on the front sidewalk. At the suggestion of the resident, Mrs Benson, he opens it to find a body. It’s not her husband, but a local gangster. What kind of signal is this death sending to the mob? Why did they choose the Benton house to drop off the crate? The cops, Casey, and Ann consider these questions.

Switch to a behind the scenes drama with the mob, and their underworld practices. Crooked lawyers, extortion, lucky pennies, and dirty double crossers. Elsewhere, Casey relaxes at the Blue Note, and talks with Ethylbert to clear his mind. The lucky penny has found its way into Casey’s hands, and Casey is about to find himself in the hands of Lucky Carson. Both Ann and Casey are in danger as the thugs take them for a long ride to the country.

Can Casey talk himself out of this one? These tough guys are ruthless, and murder is a commonplace event for them. Suspense builds, gunshots ring out, and… commercial time.

Back in the Blue Note Casey and Ann fill in the details when they talk with Ethylbert.
