Another double feature of classic Amos and Andy.
First Show: The Marriage Of Andrew H Brown. 04-03-1939. All the elaborate preparations are made, the rehearsal has taken place. All of Andy’s friends are taking part in the wedding ceremony. The announcer offers detailed description of the setting.
Andy is nervous as Amos tries to settile him down. The Mystic Knights of the Sea Quartet sing softly as the proceedings draw even cloeser. The moment arrives and Andy takes his place.
The preacher begins his message. Andy takes his vows, and his fate is about to be sealed as the bride repeats her vows. The preacher is just making his pronouncement when all of a sudden… a shot rings out. Andy is shot.
Second Show: Rubys Diamond. 02-18-1944. Andy has today’s date circled on the calendar, but he can’t remember why he had marked it. As he talks to Lightning about it, he remembers that he was going to buy a birthday gift for Amos wife, Ruby.
Little does he know, a couple of thugs have stolen a diamond, and to get away from the cops, they drop the real diamond in with a bunch of dime store fakes. Guess who just unwittingly bought it?
Andy calls a friend over to cut the diamond down, since he believes it to just be a fake, and it’s huge size is just unbelievable. When his friend, Fluky cant manage it, Kingfish offers his advice. Maybe he should have the stone engraved. With the diamond in the hands of a jeweler, it’s true value is made known, and Kingfish immediately goes back to Andy to con him out of the diamond ring.
Kingfish takes the ring to sell, but the jewler recognizes it as the hot diamond that the cops are looking for. Looking to save his skin, Kingfish tries to back out of his sales contract with Andy.
After he gives the ring to Ruby, she appreciates it, but gets nervous after she learns its true value. Amos smells trouble and gets to the bottom of where the ring came from. It looks like he might be just in time
when the two thugs are back, and looking for that hot ring. Through a twist of fate, they don’t get it, but at least none of our friends in the world of Amos and Andy get into trouble.
