Jane and Irma talk about being together in the apartment for a year. A phone call comes in from Richard, Janes boyfriend and rich boss. He needs to drop off a $100 bill by her place as part of a business transaction. When Al, Irma’s boyfriend stops in at the apartment, he tells a little about his latest business scheme. As the girls make plans to celebrate their anniversary, Mr Kierpotkin stops in to complain about Mrs Riley, and paying the rent. He and Al have their own discussion of the anniversary as the girls step out.
When Irma returns, she has a purse that she found. Though Al tries to convince Irma to keep the cash in the handbag, she decides to do the right thing, and contact the lady who owns the purse. Being busy, the woman is going to send her secretary to leave a reward, and pick up the purse. I feel a mix up coming on.
Richards secretary drops off his money, but is reluctant to take the handbag that Irma forces on to her. The mix up gets worse when Jane gets home, Irma and Al are already gone to put the money in the bank. Actually, Al talks her into celebrating with him, and spending the cash.
Richard arrives and is surprised that his money hasn’t been dropped off. The lady’s secretary arrives to get the purse, and takes offense that she is being taken advantage of. naturally, Jane and Richard know nothing about the matter, and without having the purse, are put on the spot. Conclusions are leapt to when Richards secretary arrives with the purse. Richard is gracious on his part to make fast work of the matter at hand. But no reward money was dropped off, and where is Irma?
The gang head out to keep Irma from spending the money that doesn’t really belong to her. The search leads to Coney Island. Don’t worry though, somehow, despite the fun, and big spending, Irma still has the money to return to Jane.
