After trying to win over the natives using the bible, Heddy finds herself captured along with her father. Meanwhile, Deerslayer watches and makes plans to raid the camp with his friend, a Deleware cheif. A Deleware maid who has escaped joins our hero while Deerslayer goes over the items brought along to Ransome the captives.
Though Heddy was supposed to be captured to become an Irriqois squaw, she has now returned to Judith and Deeerslayer. Will their trade for the other captives go off without a hitch?
Will Heddy be instrumental in rescuing others? Will the battle plans be diffused when the Indians see the ivory carvings of elephants that Deerslayer brought?
