The latest brainstorm for raising money fast is for Lum to become a human fly. Abner is confused, but Lum tries to explain how the publicity stunt works, to raise attention for stores and get customers in the door.
What does a human fly look like? Do they have wings on them? Lum figures they get paid by how many floors they climb. Where can he find a sky scraper? The tallest building in town is Sister Simpson’s boarding yhouse, and she probably won’t go for such a thing. Abner tries to think of alternate vocations that Lum can do in town. He could be Lum the Human Mountain Goat, and climb a mountain. Nah. How about the human Squirrel? The Human Monkey?
Lum settles on being a human fly, and sets off to practice. Meanwhile, Grandpap stops by to discuss the topic with Abne. He and Abner talk about selling consessions at Lum’s climbing. Cedric joins them to tell about an unforeseen danger of he occupation choice.
