To put the situation to the test, Amos and Andy come up with a plan. They leak word that Andy is to inherit a large sum of money. The proof will come after the rumor spreads, and they drop the bombshell that there was no inheritance.
Rumor does indeed spread like wild fire, and Andy has friends at every turn. Andy is enjoying all the attentions of his friends to the point of being sick from over eating. Kingfish convinces him to go to the hospital. In order to leave though, Andy needs a doctor to clear him. Kingfish is to pose as a doctor for doing this, but first a patient from the psychiatric ward sneaks in to pose as a staff doctor.
Once all the medical posturing reaches a fever pitch, Andy returns home, and admits to his false claim. Who is proved right on the friendship issue? Will Andy’s friends stick by him? What do you think? I think Amos just might be right on this one.
