Join Jack, Mary, Don, Phil, and Dennis for another night of comedy and music. Don has to introduce Mary since Jack is busy talking to his writers. She complains to Don and Phil about Jack being a bigger ham than ever, since returning from his African USO trip. Mary tells a story about ‘Old Blood and Guts’ Benny, and the teasing behind his back continues.
Cut to Jack giving military style orders to his riters. Phil plays, People Will Say We’re in Love.
The cabbie from last week drops in to renew the running gag from last week. Still no reports on Cpl Crowley, just a few jokes. Dennis comes in to joke about the military theme, and the new writers. Rochester phones into keep the military jokes alive.

With Fred Allen still off the air, Jack puts his voice actors to work. One of them being John Brown, who portrays a reporter sent to interview Jack. The interview goes on a tangent when Jack goes into a dramatic flashback to recount his time recently spent in Casa Blanca.
Of course, Rochester helps out to sing a few bars of, As Time Goes By. After poking fun at Bogey and Bergman, Jack has a few motivating words in support of the troops.
Trivia Alert: During the war years, people from all walks of life left to do their patriotic duty. Among them were some of Jack’s staff. Writers Bill Murrow, and Ed Beloine had just left for duty, which is why Jack has put together this current writing staff, many of who will remain with him as writers to the end of his television career. Also it should be noted that one of the comments of Jack’s about hair, directed to his writers refers to the fact that his former writer, Bill Murrow was bald.
