Back home after spending the previous week in Hollywood, Lum plays it off to Squire as if his trip was all hobnobbing with the stars out in. When grandpap enters the store, Lum asks Abner to play along, and make it seem that their trip was anything but the experience that it was. Sleeping on pool tables, and eating in soup kitchens. Will grandpap believe their stories of movie deals?
Cedric enters to get a sample of Lum’s exaggerations, as his stories of his his accomplishments grow. Abner is a little worried over it all. When Mrs Seastrump enters, Lum can’t stop telling about his movie directing, and gets roped into writing a play for the school.
