When Connie and Boynton’s vacation plans have taken separate tracks, she has decided to put herself on the market to date other men. Connie takes a cab ride home and is outraged at the price. She tries to get Mrs Davis to help out with paying the fare, and Mrs Davis mistakes the cabbie for Connie’s new attempt at finding another boyfriend. I feel a theme for the show coming on.
As the cabbie enjoys breakfast, Walter pops in, maybe she can collect on some debts that he owes her? Walter talks about his latest date with harriot, and seems to be of the same mind as Mrs Davis about the cabbie being Miss Brooks new boyfriend. Of course nobody has any funds to help out Miss Brooks, and Walter’s deep pockets are a mini version of Jack Benny’s vault.
Connie needs to hit up her other friends. and The cabbie agrees to take her around town. Will Mr Boynton have any cash for Connie? Will he even notice the other man, or be jealous?
By the time Connie makes her way to the Conklin home, her cab ride fees have escalated. She is about to find the Mr Conklin has problems of his own with the head of the principals, Mr Stone. If Connie helps with a little backscratching of Mr Conklins, might he help her out of her little shortage of cab fare? All she has to do is keep the visiting school officials busy enough so the Conklins can sneak outand leave on their Summer vacation. I don’t think it’s going to be so simple, but Miss Brooks has a way of pulling her principal out of the fire whenshe needs to.
