Lum and Abner – Confederate Money Chest. 460418

Chet Lauck and Norris Goff wearing a suit and tie smiling at the camera. Sitting in front of a radio microphone, one holding a script and the other adjusting his glasses -

There seemed to be bundles of money in the unearthed strong box that Lum and Abner were hunting for. With night falling, and making it too dark to tell, the guys drag the lock box to Abner’s house to count the money.

There is indeed money in the box, sure enough, and in the neighborhood of $300,000. The happhy moment is broken when Lum notices the cash is Confederate money, and worthless.

With the celebration over, it’s back to the regular grind in the Jot ‘Em Down store where Lum tells grandpap all about the lesson that was learned. Might there still be hope in fixing up antique furniture? A phone call reports to Lum their money might be worth something to a collector, if they can only get it all back from Cedric.
