Jack Benny – Jack Returns To Los Angeles. ep252, 370404

Jack Benny, Mary Livingstone and Don Wilson posing for a photo in 1938.

Spring, beautiful Spring, and natures little buttercup is speaking. Don and Jack talk about the nice weather, and gardening. Mary tells about how her garden is growing. What kind of hobbies appeal to Phil Harris? He hears about the tree that Waukegan planted in Jacks honor. Hey, what’s that dog doing? Phil and the band play a jazzy tune to transition.

Jack tells the cast about the aftermath of the feud with Fred Allen. The feud is over… isn’t it? The cast point out how Fred Allen was funnier than Jack was, but will he believe them? Kenny Baker sings, Turn Off the Moon.

Jack talks about films, and the activities that Kenny is involved in. As Jack tries to plug his own film, Mary gets a phone call from her mom. Andy Devine joins the fun to tell about trouble he has had on his farm. Phil plays, Riding High.

Responding to request from the audience, Jack promises to represent a play from earlier in the season. All you gotta do is vote for your favorite. A parting gardening joke leads into the commercial and final words from Jack and Mary.
