The Texas plainsman who left behind a trail of Western legends, Britt Ponset is the Six Shooter.
As Britt rides into the once wild and wooly town, he marvels at how it has grown, become businesslike, and settled into being a quiet place. Even the old sheriff of the town shares a little of the undercurrents of a town going through growing pains and changes. Buzz is the sheriff’s son who is heading off to be educated back East as a lawyer. Britt finds himself in the middle as Buzz rides the wave of the future, while dad clings to the wild days of the past.
Even in a settled, quiet town things still happen, and the sheriff heads out with Britt to deal with a murder. In fact the town is still wild enough to merit a good old shoot out when Britt and the lawman ride to the ranch to get their man. Britt offers the intense voiceover as the gun battle goes down. Afterward a point is proven. Will dad prove to his son that the town is still wild, and he can’t leave for a higher education? Or will the son prove to dad that the people are ready for change despite the wild nature that clings on? I think you may know the answer to that one, but it’s still wortha listen.
