Philip Carney and his crew have been laying up over a week in Singapore. The monotony of watching the passers by is broken when Philip gets a note that his first mate, Red Gallagher is in big trouble.
Going to the hotel is just the beginning of the wild goose chase, Red is already gone, then Philip follows a trail of missed connections that end with news of a murder. The trail is like a tour of the sedy side of town as Carney encounters the exotic natives including a sultry salloon girl.
Who is Gina, and what is her intentions? A thump on the head, a reunion with Red Gallagher, and Philip as they battle their way free. What do these thugs want? It can only be narcotics, but how much does Philip know about it?
