As Brit rides down the canyon, he describes the unique scene. It’s a prime spot for an ambush, but Britt manages to overtake the shooter and he learns a story of murder. Pa died and left his estate divided equally between his son, Art, and his step son, Clyde. When Clyde was gunned down, Art was blamed for the shooting. To evade a certain lynching, Art has been hiding out. What should Art do? Britt offers some advice, but is turning himself in the right thing to do?
Art agrees to meet at Squirrel rock later, but for now Britt rides to meet the posse, and learn the rest of the details. Naturally, a different story emerges, so who can Britt believe?
